You most likely have a broken window regulator inside the door. The regulator arm sometimes breaks loose from the window carrier. Be carful that your glass does not fall down into the door and may break for scratch.
It may me the repair shop that you are choosing.
Believe it or not a dealership can be the worst choice.
You never know who is going to work on your car - the new guy with minimal experience or the master tech who has been around for years.
I know. I was a Mercedes Master tech with over 10 yrs experience at 2 dealerships. I now work at an independent import auto shop.
You need to find a qualified technician at a shop with an honest reputation and stick with them.
Most good shops have techs that specialize in specific car lines. Like myself - with my experience, I work on all the Mercedes that come into our shop.
Ask the shop owner if they have a Mercedes specialist and what his experience is. Request that person to work on your car. Remember - the person you talk to on the phone or meet at the counter is usually not the person that is actually working on your car.

Be willing to pay for diagnostic time when you find the right shop. The technician that you want has spent many years learning his skills and deserves to be paid for his time and experience.
Help out the tech. by supplying as much information about the 'symptoms' of your complaint as you possibly can. This can save you time and money.
Write this information down on paper and ask that it be passed on to the tech so there is no information lost from person to person. You can also ask to communicate to the tech personally.

I could spend a lot more time - but hope this helps.
I have 01 C320 (W203) and would like to lowered it pretty soon but cant decided which of the 3 brand is the best for my car without sacrifying the ride. I just want to removed the big gap on the front fender (3 1/2 in) but the rear side is perfect but will use the thickest rubber. So any suggestion will be helpful.
If you have an iPhone I suggest fully integrating it with an integration module with bluetooth. You get constant charging, stereo head unit control, album/artist stereo text display and steering wheel control, ALL from your factory MB stereo. I got mine from www.mypodcarkit.com. Here's what they have to say in their description:

"The iPod or iPhone is completely unlocked when connected, meaning you can manually access your iPod or iPhone at any time. There's even an additional aux input for connecting any device with a headphone jack like Sat Radio, Mp3 player, etc. Add the Bluetooth kit and enjoy the advanced capabilities of *hands-free calling in your Mercedes (*requires additional connection of the included microphone which will need to be installed in proximity of the driver, usually on the windshield pillar or visor). Incoming calls are heard over the speakers of the stereo system and any music is paused or silenced when answering incoming calls."

It's been the best experience for me having it installed in my SL. And the iPhone docks into a nice cradle they hooked me up with that mounted to my dash without any interior damage or modification which means I can remove everything and the car is the same as it was when I bought it.
I have a 2005 C230 Kompressor Sport. My engine fan is on all the time and it is extremely loud, also when I turn the car off the fan keeps goin for almost 10 seconds. The message says I have low coolant, even though i have full coolant. I am thinking if I just reset my censors, the fan might turn off. Maybe they are just 2 different problems. Any ideas? Thank you.
Subject: Troublesome exhaust smoke
Posted: Jul 11, 2010 5:54 am (GMT -8)
Topic Replies: 0

Hello,

I have a MBenz 300CE24, W124 series 1990 model. I bought it after the owner had parked it for 6months(she was out of country).

It was very fine after service and remained fine until I borrowed a friend. after friend returned it the car switches off anytime i slow down or braked plus it started puffing black smoke (rich oil sympton). My mechanic tried tuning it but eventually advised to buy a "black switch" beside the Injector.

After changing this, black smoke stopped but another smoking started...anytime I stopped or slowed down in traffic, the exhaust brings out smoke dancing slightly around the rear of the car, almost unnoticed but its there and it smells irritate. If I rev the car hard, thick white smoke bellows out.

This continued for 3months now, until today after filling the tank with fuel, some minutes later car begins to go off when slowed down or braked. i revved the car and think black smoke is back!!

Please help...

1. Could it be that my friend allowed fuel to finish and injector sucked dirt. I have changed fuel filter and Injector switch.

2. What caused the small dancing smoke at exhaust and sunsequent white smoke?

Can all these be related to Injector dirt?

Thanks

checed
